26 Apr 11 - 10:56 AM (#3142669) Subject: Folk in the Afternoon (New Club) From: nutty Opening on Tuesday 3rd of May is a new weekly afternoon (UK) Folk Club It will be based in The Cleveland Bay, Borough Road, Redcar TS10 2DD 1.30 - 4 30 pm This is a totally new venture which I hope that all folkies, who are retired, unemployed or on the sick, will support. As Redcar is also a fine place for a day out we would welcome all out of towners' as well - in fact everyone will be welcome. The Cleveland Bay, situated next to East Halt railway station, has good bus links and is easy walking distance from the town. There is also plenty of parking space. Hazel Bolton |

01 May 11 - 08:29 AM (#3145741) Subject: RE: Folk in the Afternoon (New Club) From: Ann N Is the butcher who got the recipe for Johnson's Polony and pork pies, from the Pork butcher who used to be on Church St. in Whitby, anywhere near the Cleveland Bay? I'll have an hour or so to spare in Redcar before everything starts and the chance of getting a warm Johnson's pie is too good to miss :) |

01 May 11 - 09:34 AM (#3145763) Subject: RE: Folk in the Afternoon (New Club) From: nutty Sorry Ann - I'm not sure which butcher you are referring to. Cleveland Bay is about 10 mins walk from the town centre so you will have time for a look round. Look forward to seeing you. |

01 Nov 11 - 05:11 AM (#3248184) Subject: RE: Folk in the Afternoon (New Club) From: nutty Sadly - the club is no longer functioning. Just not enough people prepared to commit to a regular appearance and numbers dwindled to the point where the venture was no longer viable. |

It was good fun for those who were committed to turning up, but eventually, the support just wasn't there. Ah well....on to the next project! Best wishes, Peter |

New ideas don't always take off, but it was well worth trying. Perhaps Tuesday wasn't quite the right day for it. How about trying again on a Sunday? Best Wishes. Burl. |
