14 Sep 12 - 09:29 PM (#3404880) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Rose of Inchicore (Mick Fitzgerald) From: Fergie Hi Martin, the Camac flows past O'Farachain's back yard and in the summer when I was visiting his house to check on progress of the repair work being undertaken to remedy the damage caused by the flooding of his basement when the Camac overflowed it's banks, what did I see running along the bottom of the stream, but a pair of dippers busily turning stones and pebbles. It was a sight that I hadn't seen anywhere near Dublin for years. Most of the Camac runs in a culvert, but it is still a living breathing river as it runs through Inchicore. Ferg |
