Not quite thw same as last year's which disrupted air traffic though:-

"Pall Einarsson, a geophysicist at the University of Iceland, said the 2010 eruption was a rare event.

"The ash in Eyjafjallajokull was persistent or unremitting and fine-grained," he said.

"The ash in Grimsvotn is more coarse and not as likely to cause danger as it falls to the ground faster and doesn't stay as long in the air as in the Eyjafjallajokull eruption.""

There is already a thread in the BS section. This should be linked to it.

Actually, I am wrong as it it a thread on about the recent earthquake, that has also continued with the eruption.

Never the less it should be BS

This eruption wont create anywhere near as much trouble as the last one.
Even I can pronounce it :-)

?

uhh would not be so shure about that , it may not hurt you out there at this point , but let me mind you of Laki eruption ...it lasted for many years ...this we don´t know anything of how long , its affecting farmers already , it had closed roads , among the road I have to after 8 days , this may not at the moment be a trouble for flight but it could be in time ,

any way I am fine and so are the rest of this nation .
take care you ´´ll never know where it strikes ...the eruption

Volcanic ash, may halt UK airspace.

The big risk here is that the "experts" who say that the danger posed to aero-engines is over-stressed, will also say that this is heavier ash that will settle more quickly , thereby causing airline operators to be less cautious ,maybe even cavalier, in their approach to flight safety this time around. And then, Heaven forfend , "A Thousand Shall Fall" , or indeed more ......

hallo all , the ash is falling hard now over the farmers and they are loosing their animals , the weather is so bad , we got wind from the high North , its snowing and its very cold. , the wind is from North that means that the airspace in UK and Europe will closed one by one .

oh my !! what a spring.... I am so tired after a hard winter and now this , well ..I can do one thing and that is , singing through the hard times ....

take care all
all the best Skarpi ,

We need people who sing through the hard times. I am sorry that your farmers are loosing their animals. I am especially worried about Icelandic horses. On Sunday and Monday I talked to different friends about how much I loved my tour of Iceland. I hope that they will go there when things have settled down. It is an amazing place.
