I learned this song from my Dad, who learned it from his Robin & Barry Dransfield LP. The tune, however is not the same as the one in the Penguin Folk Songs book. We no longer have the LP to look at the origins of the tune that I know, but a quick search on Spotify brings up two or three results for each tune. Can anyone help me out with the origins of the tune that the Dransfields used? Many thanks! |
