Gene - I stand in wonder with all that you know when it come to the good old songs. You have always been helpful with everyone and seem to do your best to please. How bout telling the people out here , that you have been helping, a little about yourself. Thanks Trent

Someone last week was looking for e.e. cummings lyrics set to music. Another example: "All in green went my love riding" arranged (and composed I guess) by Peter Schickele (PDQB) and sung by Joan Baez on the Lovesong Album (Vanguard re-releases).

The original "all in green went my love riding" set by Peter Schickele was on Joan Baez/"Baptism: A Journey Through Our Time", Vanguard (VSD79275)--I've got the vinyl version from my youth.
Vincent Persichetti set another e.e. cummings poem to music: "sam was a man".
And I've been singing "anyone lived in a pretty how town" to the shaped-note tune of Jefferson. (The tune fits very well, but it's NOT an easy poem to memorize!)

Coincidentally, in today's New York Times there is a reference to a song version by Laura Elise Schwendinger of "in just-spring" as sung by Dawn Upshaw.
