An acknowledgement given to achievers. There is a series of awards/decorations, entitling the receiver to add the letters after his/her name, like 'Frederick Rapperee O.B.E.' I suspect that the OBE is something like second-lowest awarded by the queen, but I haven't checked. Nor received one. |

I think that's how it works anyway. Men get to take it offa a woman and women get to take it offa Prince Albert (when he gets outa the can) or something like that.
