Of course they are. I've never doubted it. If you're REALLY concerned, do what the Wehrmacht did that caused the Battle of the Bulge to be such a surprise -- have your messages delivered by courier. Don't trust the postal service, the telephone, radio, cell (mobile) phones, email, the Internet...take a lesson from Osama bin Laden and have your missives hand carried.

Thanks, dwditty. Good information of which to be aware.

I went to the site linked above but didn't click on the video, something for which I'm glad.

A few seconds later, my own anti-virus software (AVG) and Microsoft Security Essentials sent me warnings.

I've never had this happen before.

Funny coincidence.

I really can't be bothered with the waffliness of TED videos.

Got a link to what the guy said in textual form?

(Leeneia, TED is at the outer extreme of starchy respectability as websites go, and I very much doubt they are spreading malware).

I think TED is cool.

What is waffliness Jack?

I was all ready to be blown away by TED until I found a presentation about tying your shoes with a proper bow instead of a granny knot. Well, duh.

I got right through and watched the video. No problems or diversions.

Maybe the fact that people here got different things is a good example of what the video is all about.

Oh. Then I don't see how it applies. Seems he was quite explanatory. Then again, I watched it.

I remember the mother of a childhood friend would say, when one of us did something "bad," GOD IS WATCHING YOU !
Now it's the government and the marketers and the hackers- ho hum.

I presume you mean this stuff?

Can't see any reason why I'd want to watch a video lasting several minutes of a talking head portentously explaining something I can get perfectly well from a screenful of text in seconds.

Waffle.

I've used Metacrawler for years.
