Herga's 130th (UK) on Mon 27 June 2011

A special evening is planned at herga for next Monday 27th June 2011: To celebrate the "joint 130th" celebration of our President (HergaKitty) and Secretary (Mike Sparks) we are holding an Open Evening with a difference: Special appearances by Lynne Heraud & Pat Turner, Les Sullivan, Graeme Knights, Moses & The Ref and yours truly. Prices held at £2 for members and £2:50 for non-members, just like a normal singaround club night.

There will also be subsidised beer, wheelchair access and free parking. Also, heckling opportunities aplenty and intelligent banter as a matter of course.

Be there, or .... no, BE there!

We will also be offering the opportunity to donate to Age UK (the new name for the combination of Age Concern and Help the Aged)....

and probably singing Happy Birthday to Les Sullivan, whose birthday it will actually be on Monday!

Love to be there, but just too far away from Fleetwood. I have very fond memories of Herga from my days when I had to travel to London for Union meetings.   Ron

Raggy - that's very gallant, but most unfair to Mike, who is still some considerable way from getting a telegram (or current equivalent) from HM on his birthday!

See you in Whitby in August!

Sounds like a good night, wish I had a folk club to go to, not been able to go a club for many years.

I'm relieved to see that the tube strikes that were planned for next week, including on Monday evening, have been called off!

Hope you all had a fabulous time, do tell....

Was kept away by the threat of thunderstorms which didn't happen after all!

It wasn't quite the usual Open Evening...

It was lovely to see so many old (and new) friends - thank you, all of you. And especially thanks to Jenny Sparks for the cake, and to Lynne and Pat who (as ever) excelled themselves. I'm glad I waited until I got home before I opened their birthday card!

A lovely evening indeed, full room and some 15+ performers with Lynne and Pat headlining of course. Some of the sopngs involved actions and some even had props (Lynne's speculum was doing the rounds of the audience, last I saw). All in all a very tasteful evening!

Went home humming Lynne and Pat's closing number.

(Lynne's speculum was doing the rounds of the audience, last I saw) wrote George.

So it was an Open Evening, although as Kitty said not the usual!

Oops, correction, yes it was Christine and Serena's cake. Les - you obviously ate a slice from Mike's side, because Jenny saved my side for later, so I will give you one from my side when I see you....

It was worth a visit last night just to see and to hear you Kitty.

Have you had any offers yet !? woman of leisure that you have become !! ?

This afternoon I enjoyed meeting Mike Sparks in one of his other roles. Methinks he enjoyed chucking kayaks into the water, from a height, particularly if they had live bodies on board !

I also saw him make a bit of a splash preceeded by deft hip action .

Thats how he keeps fit.

Tell us more about this Rosie from the Hood, what's her angle?
