Honest) and it's too much of a pain for me to do a manual update of it since I'm on Linux and it won't change the shortcut. Of course, I probably could if I was bothered but I may as well just let the package manager do it for me. |

I generally turn off the update automatically option on software and wait to hear reports of user feedback first. I've managed to avoid a few dodgy software 'updates' this way especially some from Microsoft! The golden rule being: "if it ain't broke, dont fix it!". Cheers, Andrez |

I had some issues with 4, but except for some add-ons needing updating, I think it's ok. I don't always agree with how they do some features, but it seems to work correctly. |

I regretted moving to FF3 but have got used to it (Yahoo mail is currently threatening to make me 'upgrade' and the Met Office Weather Gadget is threatening a replacement Widget, both of which I'd rather they didn't!) One can waste time trying to figure out the utility of the supposed improvements, but whether something is really useful depends on how it's been implemented--and whether it renders other main-use operations actually harder (as too often happens with these "upgrades".) So it's nice to hear the assessments of independent folks, who will tell not only the rosy side of things but also the groaty side. |

From: IvanB I installed it yesterday in response to this thread, knowing I still had my 3.6 installation file handy if I wanted to go back. Not much difference in appearance, took me half a minute to figure out that the commands that used to spread across the top of the screen are now in a drop down box accessed at the top left. Other than that, I've noticed the speed which others have mentioned. |
