Subject: San Francisco Folk Campouts, July 4

I haven't been to one of these campouts, but I hear they're great fun:

    Dear friends,

The San Francisco Folk Music Club would like to invite you to join us at our 4th of July and Labor Day campouts among the redwoods near Boulder Creek. It's one of our favorite camps, and we've always had a good time there.

One of the comments about our July 4, 2010 camp:

HI! I just have to add my voice to thank all of the SFFMC campers at Boulder Creek for one of the best camping weekends ever! Great music jams, workshops, open mic nights, conversations, making lots of new friends and relaxing and just having fun! I hope that everyone who came will make it to the next one on Labor Day weekend! And everyone who missed it should make a point of coming also!

At one camp, we had eleven workshops, including songs of John Prine, Utah Phillips, Hank Williams, Joan Baez, the New Lost City Ramblers, and many others. Anyone is welcome to lead a workshop. At the July 4 camp we have planned Ladino songs, children's songs, Stan Rogers and Gordon Bok songs, two- and three-chord songs, and others.

If you'd like more information, see the SFFMC Web page at www.sffmc.org, July 4 & Labor Day camps. You'll find a map, directions and photos there. We also have an online edition of our newsletter, the folknik at www.sffmc.org. Look for the May/June, 2011 issue on line for July 4 information.

No advance registration is necessary; just come! There are plenty of campsites, most with fire rings.

We hope to see you there!

    Yours,

    Phyllis Jardine
