From: GUEST,Cats this is a big PLEASE. my sister Jean and her next door neighbour eddie in the sheltered housing where they live have reached the national finals in the Green Stories competition. They took a bare patch of unused land at their sheltered housing and turned it into a productive garden for all the residents to use and to enjoy. They now have used every nook and cranny of the whole gardens around their housing to grow veg, herbs and flowers for the other residents. my sister is 73. I would love her to win and come to Cornwall to visit Eden with 10 others. You haven't been dreaming but I needed to get more people to vote so thought I would change the title but couldn't Please combine the two anyone who is out there. Please vote for Jennie and Eddie. Jeannie is my sister and she is 73 and Eddie her neighbour is 76 I think! They took a piece of unused ground at the shrelterd housing where they live and have totally transformed it into a productive garden for all the people who live there, not just them. Just about everyone who lives in the building now comes into the garden on good days and they talk to each other rather than sitting in their own rooms and watching TV all the time. Jean has also planted herbs and flowers in any spare bit of earth or pot she could lay her hands on and the place has been turned around. And, they have have had no help from anyone else and theu have funded it themselves from their pensions. Please vote for her and eddie. The prize is a trip to Cornwall [where i live] for 10 people to include a trip to the Eden Project. Please nicely Catters of the world. Thank you |
