04 Jul 11 - 04:37 PM (#3181427) Subject: Redbranch morris reunion 2012 From: GUEST,Dave G We are organising a 40th anniversary reunion of the side from May 5th to May 12th 2012. The side used to be based at The University of Ulster. Anyone with connections is welcome and should contact the university alumni. Can anyone advise me about decent spots for making music in the Portrush/Portstewart area? We should have lots of musicians and singers turning up. Also, where would be a good place for a ceilidh? |

The first is by the Witches Hat, Portstewart Promenade It's like a mini amphitheatre with plenty of space in front of this structure for dancing, plus rows of stone seats. The 2nd obvious choice would be the Amphitheatre, Portrush As you can see from the photo, there's loads of space to play & dance, with loads of stone seats. There are Ceili's held regularly on Uni premises, so they could advise you. You might also try the old Bingo Hall on Causeway St. Portrush, where Set Dance classes & Ceilis were held for years. Cheers, Dick |
