tune title wanted: Dribbles of Brandy B Part

14 Jul 11 - 04:36 PM (#3187689)
Subject: tune title wanted
From: Banjo-Flower

In the tune book"Hardcore English" the notes to the tune "Dribbles of Brandy" state that the B Part was added to "Around the world for Sport"
by Flowers& Frolics to make a 48 bar jig.
Does anyone know where it was inserted and did they have a title for the resulting tune?
thanks in advance for any replies

Gerry

Or perhaps"Algernon S. Buford" may be a better title
and we could maybe record it for your next Yellow bellies CD Les

Well, if the new law is passed, Nellies may be back at Nellies soon. As long as you are prepared to stop at 11.
But where ever you are it's who you are that counts.
With fond memories of the Nellies crowd making a difficult timeless lonely.

As my last request went to thread drift I'll repeat my question

In the tune book"Hardcore English" the notes to the tune "Dribbles of Brandy" state that the B Part was added to "Around the world for Sport"
by Flowers& Frolics to make a 48 bar jig.
Does anyone know where it was inserted and did they have a title for the resulting tune?

For recent threads that just "slid off the bottom," you can set the time back to a week or so at the REFRESH button and older threads will reappear. If you can continue an existing thread you won't have to start a new one and you won't lose the comments that were posted before.

There is a limit for the number of threads that will be listed, so just refreshing back "forever" won't necessarily get all the threads at mudcat, but adding a word from the thread name in the box will limit the list to threads containing whateverr you search for, and will usually take you back far enough for anything except the most ancient.

A new thread isn't a particular problem, but having mulitple threads on the same subject will complicate the search when people look for yours ten years from now - when someone finds the answer.

The ordinary recommendation is that you click the "Trace" link in the list of threads, which will put a link to the thread on your personal page - before "your thread" slips out of view; but this may not work right now as the "Personal Pages" are "under repair." That feature should be back soon - we hope.

Another "trick" is to open any other thread in which you've posted. Clicking your name at any single post in the thread will get you a list of all the posts you've made, where you usually can find ones that are wanted.

Your previous thread was "refreshed" so you you can see all the previous comments.

Ya gotta tolerate a bit of thread drift. it happens.
I combined the threads and amplified the title, and maybe that will help. If I understand you correctly, what you're looking for is the title of the "B" part of the 48-bar melody titled "Dribbles of Brandy." Is that correct?

No what I'm looking for is where Flowers& Frolics put the B part of Dribbles of Brandy into Around the world for Sport to make a 48 bar jig
i.e did they make it the A,B,or C part and did they have their own title for the resulting 48 bar Jig?

So, Gerry, how would you title the thread to make the thread title both concise and specific? "Tune title wanted" is too generic a title, and won't attract the people who may know the answer.

how about: Req: Title of tune by Flowers & Frolics

Yes that does look better so if you change again thats ok by me

incidently we tried on the fly at a Ceilidh last night with the b part last and it went down a storm tho I must admit we played it a bit on the fast side for dancing(adrenalin flowing) but we would still like to put a name to it
