When I got there I discovered that Ian MacDonald was on the bill that evening. It seems that the woman who booked me got pissed off and moved to Ireland, and forgot to tell her replacement that she had booked me for that evening. The regulars were quite embarrassed so I was asked to do a short set at the break. By way of apology, they paid my fee in full and put me up for the night. It was a huge old stone house that belonged to another man named Iaian. I love the Scots. |

Unfortunately, he suffered a double brain haemorrhage, and spent five months recovering. Very fortunately, Iain came through unscathed, and since then he has been writing and recording his new CD, Colour Of Dreams (Tin Tambourine Music TTM001). I reviewed the new album, and it's just lovely. He still lives in Aberdeenshire. |
