Who's worth seeing this year?

Looking thru the Sidmouth fest prog I realised how few 'now' performers I am aware of.
Who is newly established/emerging that people like, people who are actually making and selling CDs etc. I'm looking forward to seeing several young acts at Sidmouth, but who should I look out for at other festivals and on club lists. I have broad tastes if its done well - acapella thru to stunning (but tasteful) playing.

Examples I have seen in last couple of years - Baron Brady, Megan Henwood, Dyer and Swan, I have a lot of catching up to do!

Ta in advance

Oh, and a couple of sensational guitarists from Hull called Farino.

Another recommendation for The Old Dance School, my fave new (to me) band of the year. Brim-full of inventive instrumental arrangements and some cracking songs.

Also Pilgrims Way, their CD is just out - again, good tunes and songs, well-arranged.

not at Sidmouth but

Sunjay Brayne (currently just 17years old) is already one of the most impressive talents of this generation.

Mind blowingly good.

"May be a surprise appearance from the Albion Band!"

I forgot to mention Katriona Gilmore, who is now part of the Albion line-up. Don't miss her with Jamie Roberts or Gerry McNiece - or the many other fine Yorkshire musicians she plays with.

I think those up and coming youngsters Tom & Barbara Brown are well worth catching.

Great harmonies, subtle musicianship and a very engaging style. They know their stuff as well, having spent time researching their subject. I predict a great future for them!

I honestly haven't heard anybody of any age who has impressed me so much for LONG time.

Tom & Barbara Brown sure have got a strong pedigree :-) must check them out (again!). Seeing someone called Jez Lowe in a couple of weeks -reckon he might be good after a few gigs! :-)

Good fun thanks for playing.

Nancy Wallace is well worth seeing. She seems to be playing a lot of slots there, so plenty of chances to see her.

I'd look out for David Gibb and the Pony Club and also Moore, Moss and Rutter. And Jack Blackman if you want amazing blues and jazz guitar.
