The Guitar is not all that nice or - you are asking too much for it and the offers are not 'silly' at all. D28's are difficult as most people would rather spend an extra couple of hundred quid to get the HD28. If you are asking much more than £1000.00 for one in pretty mint condition, you will never sell it. Shame really, they are a superb guitar and better than most of the competition - Taylor, Gibson etc. How much for the D35? |

I have a Lowden and have got used to the wider neck so the Martin spends most of the time in its case. I started using it tuned in C Modal and it does actually sound gorgeous, however my repertoire of 2 songs doesn't really warrant even carrying it to a gig. Hence the sale. Good owner required to do this lovely guitar justice. It just wants to be played. No other reason to sell. Just for the record I paid twice that for the Lowden! |

I play the HD more than the Lowden, because I bought it to use in the band and at sessions, and it fits those scenarios very well indeed. It's a very 'smooth' sound compared with the Lowden, which is louder and more 'woody' - suited to finger-picking. Having said that, I do also finger-pick the HD, and of course the OM (which is a more 'focussed' version of the HD's 'Martin' tone). All great guitars - as is Pulseroom's HD-35 which he started this thread in the hope of selling, before we hi-jacked it! Sorry Ian! See you in October, hopefully! |
