Pembroke Jam 2012

I can hardly wait. It's been 4 years since I've been. Leaving tomorrow morning, stopping to deliver blueberries to Bobad then on up for a 3 1/2 hour drive for a small party. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.   Come back Monday. Here is a little taste of what goes on in the park.

The actual competitions take place in an arena for the fiddlers and steppers. But in the park, approx. 2,000 trailers is music about every second or third camp site. Me I got me pup tent and memory foam along with some liquids and guitar. The only plug in instruments in the park is a bass and keyboard. No mikes for singing unless they have changed the rules since I have last been up.

Pembroke here I come.

Ah! Pembroke, Ontario! Couldn't work out why we were being invaded by Canadians!

I'm listening to it now. Sounds like big, big fun! I know a couple of tunes that sound like a couple of those tunes.

You know what I'd LOVE? A list of the tunes that are popular in
Canadian sessions. I could look them up and make myself a little tunebook. Maybe try to learn a few just in case I'm ever near a jam myself.

Well good luck Jeri, that is finding the names to the tunes. Most fiddlers are also lost as to some of the names. They just know them. I took lots of still shots and video's while there. If the vid's come out good I will see about posting a few.
