While checking the link on Ruthie Foster I noticed the passing of Wilma Lee Cooper at age 90. I have enjoyed the music of Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper for many years.

I enjoyed so much her music along with Stony Cooper on WWVA as a youngster. An example of some of the finest country-bluegrass then offered. RIP Wilma Lee.

What others have said.

Anyone have any links to videos or sound recordings on-line of Leary Family recordings with Wilma? Nothing turned up when I searched Youtube for the Leary Family.

I did find a few youtube recordings of Wilma and Stoney early in their career.

Here is one. Walking My Lord Up Calvary's Hill

I wrote to her not more than a month ago to tell her how much I liked her music back when I was a boy.
She replied that it pleased her very much.

She was always so real and down to earth, not a scrid of Lady Ga Ga in her!

RIP to the big mama of Big Midnight Special ( a treasured 45 rpm of mine).
I only found out recently that the lovely lady doing harmonies on" Bill Anderson's Country Re-Union" is none other than Wilma's daughter:
Carol Lee Cooper.
