Can anyone name this tune?

Hi all,

This tune was played at a session recently, I'm having a hard time placing a name to it. It was played on a melodeon and it sounds familiar (i.e. I feel I should know it), but that could be my mind playing tricks on me.

I've played it from memory, I'm not sure if I made the ending up or not, but the main tune should sound fairly recognisable. MP3 here.

I'm fully suspecting it to be something obvious, but my search has been fruitless so far... so thanks to anyone who can help :)

I heard that one a LOT at Whitby and I can't put a name to it either.

Seems to be a common English session tune unknown in Scotland.

Pretty little thing, isn't it?

I'm afraid it's just one of those bits I feel sure I've heard. Can't place it though.

Heh, glad I'm not alone then. I vaguely recall someone asked the player for the name, and they didn't know either. I guess that qualifies it as a real folk song.

Sounds like the 'B' part to 'Girl With the Blue Dress On' (polka)...

Here...

Interesting. I don't think I know that one. That said, I find polkas can be very easy to pick up so I might even have joined in with it somewhere...

It's often preceded by Jenny Lind - the tunes go well together and the titles have a kind of flow, too!
