29 Sep 99 - 05:28 PM (#119028) Subject: RE: Alta Vista Free Internet Access From: Jon Freeman Alice, there are any number of ISPs in the UK that provide free internet access and a local phone number to connect but even with that (and I'd say at least 95% of my calls are to connect to the internet) I have manged to run up over £140 in a quarter. The Localtel deal that I mentioned in the other thread offers free phone calls at certain times of the day and hopefully this will reduce my phone bill quite dramaticaly. As I mentioned previously, I have not been with them long enough to be willing to give a recomendation. Also, a big drawback for me is that they don't appear to have a news server so I am using 2 ISPs at the moment. I just hope that their move to provide free phone calls encourages others to follow suit. Jon |

I wish everyone had the choices we do in the Wash DC area |
