Tech: Phone 'Message sending failed'-but it hasn't

Something has happened to my wife's mobile phone. Every time she tries to send a text it flashes up "Message sending fails". But we just checked with her sending a message to my phone and it came through correctly and instantly. But her phone still said it had failed.

Any suggestions as to what might have happened? And as to how it can be rectified.

This technologised world we are living in is becoming more and more confusing...

Kevin, I don't know. However, people who might be able to help will need to know what type of phone and who the service provider is. Wish I could help.

I suppose that might help. It's a Nokia C 102 ; and O2 "pay & go".

Did you try pulling out the battery to see if the phone will reset/fix itself?

Or it might have a reset button, often recessed so you need to use a pen or a pin to press it.

It most likely came with an instruction manual.

The Nokia website probably has a manual you can download.

Whoever provides your connection quite probably has a website with at least FAQ.

The connection provider likely has a "chat support" line where someone who knows both the phone and the service setup, and can look at your account if/when you give permission.

The problem most likely is with the account setup, and NOT particularly likely to be with the phone.

If it is the phone, you probably should take it back and demand a replacement, and also insist that the seller do the setup for you before you accept the new one. Although many sellers have limited abilities, they can call the provider (on their phone) and follow the instructions so that you don't have to pay cell phone rates while the support people fumble around with it.
