Protest sing-song for Occupy London

On Wednesday 9 November, there will be a sing-song in front of the steps of St Paul's in support of Occupy London from 3 - 5pm. It follows on from the student protest on the same day, which takes place from 12 - 2pm.

This is not a concert - it's a chance to sing together. Confirmed guests to lead the singing on the day are Billy Bragg, Peggy Seeger, Roy Bailey, Chumbawamba, Leon Rosselson and Steve Knightley. Tony Benn will be speaking.

The event was inspired by Pete Seeger singing for Occupy Wall Street a couple of weeks ago. Peggy Seeger thought it would be good to do something similar for the London protest.

Hope to see some of you there.

How about Maggie Holland's "A Place Called England"?

Sadly Roy Bailey is unwell and can't be with us (get well soon, Roy!). But other surprise guests are rumoured to be planning an appearance.

Wish we could be there in person and add our voices - we'll be there in spirit, though.

I'm trying to get a picture of what songs were sung on the day. Other than what is on YouTube, can anyone tell em more? I'm particularly interested to know if 'The Cutty Wren' was performed. Thanks!
