Note the reaction of these Corgis:

Corgis protest against vuvuzela!

And this dog leaves NO doubt as to how offended he is by the dreaded vuvuzela...

Piss on that!

Well, who doesn't?!

Mind, only one of the two in first vid above seemed to object; the other seemed quite intrigued & tail-waggy to me.

Both cats and dogs have much more acute hearing than we humans. A vuvuzela is probably almost unbearably loud to them. If I clatter the dishes a bit while washing up, three little Siamese heads appear over the top of the cat bed with stern, pained expressions. It's a wee bit cruel to startle pets with loud noises.

I think the yellow corgi was just trying to fit in by making loud non-musical noises. The big black dog composed and elegant critique.

You may be right about the Corgi, Jack. It's a little unclear whether he is registering a protest or just adding his 2 cents, so to speak.

I've watched some brief clips of the World Cup in South Africa. The drone of all those screeching vuvuzelas sounds simply awful. I sure wouldn't want to be there.

I am always suspicious of people who don't like dogs.
I am even MORE suspicious of people or things, that dogs don't like.
I trust the judgement of any dog, over many people I know.

It would be kind of cool if the military built a vuvuzela about as big as Rhode Island, mounted it on a sort of ramp, pointed it at Ohio, and blew it by using a giant nuclear-powered air compressor...or they could just get Paw to back up to it and insert it where the sun don't shine, after eating several pounds of beans, I guess...at any rate, I should think the effects upon the State of Ohio would be quite memorable.

I'm guessing that that is the Guelph Chamber Ensemble, Spaw! ;-)

(Guelph is a smallish city in southern Ontario. Try substituting its name in ANY famous song about ANY city anywhere, for hilarious results!)

For instance, substitute it for San Francisco in the following 2 songs...

"I left my heart...in...Guelph(?)..."

or...

"If you're goin'...to...Guelph(???)...be sure to wear...a flounder in your hair..."

On an English registered moped?
Please don't tell me Cletus and the Reg boys have emigrated!

Trust the judgement of cats better, if there is anything they don't like or startles them they make a run for it. I tend to do the same.

Ah! Well, then, it's not Cletus or the Reg boys. It may be one of Olive and Eddie Whatnoll's relatives. It's not Eddie. Not nearly large enough to be Eddie. There's no moped made that can hold Eddie Whatnoll.
