I hear that Geoff Hilditch, the wheelchair morrisman has died. Anyone know any more details?

Lynne - I suspect you mean Geoff Hebditch...? If so, could a Mudelf please change the thread title:

I received this e-mail last Sunday:

"Geoff Hebditch, erstwhile fool and dancer died at 0825 on Friday 11th November.

On Sunday Geoff was riding his recumbent tricycle in Fareham and was
involved in an RTA with a motorbike, resulting in bleeding on the
brain, other internal bleeding and multiple fractures. He was being
kept sedated in an attempt to stabilise his condition enough to
transfer him to Southampton's neuro-surgery department.
A post mortem is due to take place because of the circumstances and
then plans can be made for "a large thanksgiving for his life", in
Mary's words.

We were discussing what a joy it had been to him to manage to get to
this year's Fools and Beasts Unconvention and take an active part.
Please, pass this on to anyone else who knew him, thank you.

I will keep in touch about further plans."

Geoff was fool with King Johns Morris Men and danced with Winchester Morris Men and was well-known for his colourful appearance at Sidmouth Folk festival."

Yes I did mean Hebditch, sorry.

I'm so very sad to hear this. He had so much exuberance and joy of life. The last time I spoke to him was at the ceilidh in the Ford at Sidmouth just after he'd whizzed through the ford in his wheelchair to great cheers.

Google kindly led me to this page from the Sidmouth Herald. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the funeral, but I'm even more pleased that I managed to photograph Geoff doing Shepherd's Hey several years ago. He was a remarkable man, without a shadoow of a doubt.
