Gratitude to Plants, the sun-facing, light-changing leaf and fine root-hairs; standing still through wind and rain; their dance is in the flowering spiral grain in our minds so be it. Gratitude to Air, bearing the soaring Swift and silent Owl at dawn. Breath of our song clear spirit breeze in our minds so be it. Gratitude to Wild Beings, our brothers, teaching secrets, freedoms, and ways; who share with us their milk; self-complete, brave and aware in our minds so be it. Gratitude to Water: clouds, lakes, rivers, glaciers; holding or releasing; streaming through all our bodies salty seas in our minds so be it. Gratitude to the Sun: blinding pulsing light through trunks of trees, through mists, warming caves where bears and snakes sleep— he who wakes us— in our minds so be it. Gratitude to the Great Sky who holds billions of stars— and goes yet beyond that— beyond all powers, and thoughts and yet is within us— Grandfather Space. The Mind is his Wife. so be it. after a Mohawk prayer Gary Snyder, Turtle Island |

25 Nov 11 - 12:27 PM (#3263376) Subject: RE: BS: A Thanksgiving Prayer From: SINSULL Had a lovely day. A feast provided by Jacqui and Kendall of turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and about fifty different roasted vegetables. Fine wine; beautiful pies for dessert. And the entertainment included some guitar strumming and songs, a small ground hog and a lovely fox. Happy Thanksgiving all. SINS |

26 Nov 11 - 11:30 AM (#3263772) Subject: RE: BS: A Thanksgiving Prayer From: wysiwyg From a long-absent Catter who emailed me. ~S~ Happy Thanksgiving. An of' heard greeting this day. But is it not a redundant declaration of being? If I am happy it is probably because I give thanks in all things. If I am celebrating Thanksgiving then I am recognizing my blessings which should bring me joy and happiness. So my greeting this day is to thank God for you; for the community I am part of that you represent; for the family that I belong to that you represent. My wish for you, specifically on this day, As on all days is that God will bless you with an abundance of cheer of health of friends of love of joy of peace. Blessings to you this day as we stop to give thanks for all the blessings we have received. You are amongst my blessings. |
