Ok so it is about an inch a fouled anchor with a coil of rope above it could it be a brooch or badge? |

The fouled anchor when used in a tattoo, signified that the wearer has crossed the Atlantic. Items like this are still available to buy, here is an image of one. |

If you get an anchor entangled in it's rope or other debris, it is described as 'fouled' An anchorage wher the bottom is covered in snags and anchoring is difficult, is described as 'foul ground' |
