Delph was in Yorkshire I believe, near Saddleworth and Greenfield (now in Greater Manchester being near Oldham!) or some other made up Lankky area!! Does anyone have a recording lyrics/provenance of this song please? haven't heard this before Ray |

30 Nov 11 - 08:58 AM (#3265993) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Delph Fair From: Jim Dixon I've found that Ammon Wrigley wrote a poem called THE DELPH SHOW. Its first line is "Fro' th' Isle o' th' Skye to th' Laddy Rocks," and it appears on pages 232-233 of a book called "Songs of a Moorland Parish with Prose Sketches: A Collection of Verse and Prose, Chiefly Relating to the Parish of Saddleworth" (1912, reprinted 1980). This information is from a web site called Lancashire Lantern: Lancashire Poetry Index. More information from the Dunkerley-Tuson Family Website:
