Just a little short event on KMUN streaming..91.9 I think..Astoria OR. I mention this because a friend from down here as passed away, as has Susie and another women singer many of us know...so I am definitely taking a song we recorded in Rainycamp for them and Songs of PNW by Stewart in case they have sime to play Suzi/Suzie/Susie's songs..not sure. mg

Not enough info for me to find a podcast or archive, or to determine is same is available.

If available, a little help in navigating to it, please?

mg, Genie shared an anthology cd of Northwest musicians on a trip a year ago that included a couple of recordings of you that wowed me. Would love to hear more.

I don't have much but I could send you a few songs I put on my "device" so I don't forget the tunes....just email me at mgxxxxxx@yahoo.com..

anyway go to http://coastradio.org/index5.html and I think you just click on the button that says listen now..it just worked for me.

This is an absolutely wonderful radio station..wonderful programs and radio stars..get my fix of Scandinavian music every Saturday...and they have a short program called the Ship Report that tells you what ships are lined up waiting to cross the bar...

I lived in Maine for a while and my radio would only pick up French stations for some reason...very interesting..mg

You know ... "KMUN" is a local community based radio station. I've met many of them over the years. I've know them in my home town in Everett, Washington ... "KSER" (98.7 FM). I've known them in Pocatello, Idaho, Alaska, etc.

As our techinical abilities continue to grow and change, I still come back to RADIO. It's still a very exciting media. And by and large, in my experience, it's still somewhat safe from the forced changes (losses) of large corporations.

I am a contributing member of KSER. Not much ... I don't have much to contribute. But I suggest that you support you local community radio station.

When our local, and INDEPENDENT radio stations fall by the wayside, we will have lost a voice that will be hard to replace.

Think about it ... bob nelson

We had a great time and sort of jumped around but some themes developed....start of crab season, Pearl Harbor Day which led to songs like Rosie the Riveter (Linda Allen) and one about interment plus Oysterville Road, which mentions internment of Japanese and German oyster growers..some women in the NW songs..Weaving and QUilting by Linda Allen..Canning Salmon sung by Rebel VOices and written by Linda Chobichek (I will have to look up spelling of her name in a bit)..

Returning theme was the dear departed...Ann of nearby, Susie, Teresa..and from years gone by Dave McAuslin..we did his Acres of CLams..and Jinx Davis..Julie's song...it was a really nice set of songs I think...mg
