BS: Newt Gingrich

Subject: BS: NEWT GINGRICH
From: kendall

Here's a song I started when he was Speaker. Add to it if you want.

Come and listen to my story 'bout Newt Gingrich,
He told his Ma that Hillary was a bitch,
They put it on the tell just to have some fun,
But, he said it wasn't his fault, it was that woman, Connie Chung.

With his head full of ideas he went up to DC,
To make things better for you and me,
He worked one day and like any other Toff, like his predecessor took the next day off.

Newton, Newton Gingrich, the Satyr of the GOP.

A revolving account is one to which you make periodic payments of adjustable size and can take credit that is either variable up to a fixed limit or variable up to a multiple of the payment size.

The explanations on say Wikipedia are not very good.

Some stand up comic said that Newt needed the revolving account at Tiffany's so he could buy his engagement rings in bulk.

Plausible.

But if he got them on chattel mortgage then they could be repo'd from the young women after he had finished with them.

Well, if they're new then they haven't had a chance to hang themselves yet through their own foolish utterances...or to be crucified yet by the media and their competitors digging up some dirt out of their past.

Makes sense to me that they'd be ahead under those conditions. ;-D

The same thing happens in Canadian politics, generally speaking.

I predict another flameout- Newt is not capable, imo, of keeping his ego in check.

By the way, I had an uncle with that last name. I had been wondering about the pronunciation of Newt GingRICH as everyone seems to be doing, since my uncle's name is pronounced GingRICK. Last night Newt's sister was on Rachel Maddow's show and confirmed that their family's name is pronounced in the traditional manner.

We pronounced it with the Germanic ch and I would be surprised if that weren't the case within his family.

With unemployment dropping and over 20 dead terrorists, including Bin Laden, he won't be easy to topple. The republicans must know that Newt is a liability. three wives, mistresses, the post office scandal, the check kiting scheme, etc. Family values? What family? He's made a ton of money since he left office and it is all through his connections in DC.

I kinda liked the beginning of this article, not so sure about the second half: Occupy Sexual Freedom. An excerpt:

Sympathy for Newt and Open Marriage
You know the narrative. Right-wing family-values Republican gets caught doing secular-liberal totally-not-family-values stuff, usually involving sex:
Cruising for manlove in an airport men's room.
    Knocking up the maid.
Sending dirty emails to young male pages.
Hiring male hookers and smoking meth.
Asking wife #2 for an open marriage.
This kind of thing happens all the time. And it's always red meat for leftie media commentators.
Liberal pundits love to call fallen Republicans hypocrites. They point out that liberal politicians are often more heterosexual and monogamous than many so-called conservatives--and remain married to the same spouse for life.
    Now it's Newt Gingrich's turn.
In defense of the "liberal pundits," I have to say that while liberals also engage in sexual misconduct, they're far less duplicitous about it....

Many years ago, I read a book titled Open Marriage. I thought it recommended that married people have friendships with the opposite sex while remaining sexually faithful to one's spouse. I think Newt's concept was somewhat different.

No, I would not buy a used car from this candidate, even if he lowered himself to sell one by himself.

I don't care a whit about his sexual adventures. I very much care that he has, on numerous occasions, broken his word, did not act in the country's best interest but rather in his own, lied, and in general piled up ethics violations that makes Dick Nixon look like a piker. Then to top it all off he has the gall to play up to veterans and act like a hawk of the deepest dye when he avoided the draft by student deferments and by marrying his high school teacher when he was 19.

Can you spell "hypocrite"???

NEwt's kind of a political pinball machine. He gyrates and bounces around from post to post and then mysteriously zings down between the flippers. Ya' see, Newt never saw the side of an issue he didn't like........at one point or another.

Romney flip flops between two positions; Newt gyrates all over the place. Romney has the worst speech writers around though. During the debate the other night, Mitt was on the attack with a boatload of prepared mini speeches. One of them took Newt to task over changing positions. Say what? Romney? Right then........

The old line Repubs don't want either of these guys and are doing their damndest to figure a way to a brokered convention.

It seems to me that sexually active Republicans are fair game since they base so many of their prohibitions for others upon the values of heterosexual monogamy - which they then fail to observe. It's "Oh Lord, give me chastity, but don't give it yet" and "Don't do as I do, so as I tell you". In short hypocrisy and lies.
