18 Dec 11 - 01:18 PM (#3276066) Subject: Sad anniversary...Tony Cuffe From: GUEST,kenny 10 years ago today, we lost a great Scottish musician, singer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Tony Cuffe. There are quite a few recordings of Tony freely available to listen to on a website called "raretunes" - you should be able to "Google" it. Those of you who knew or met him, please join me in raising a glass and / or playing a tune or singing a song in his memory. |

Here he is singing the definitive Cornriggs with (of course) Ossian. Happy days. Consider the glass well & truly raised, Kenny! (I'd post Ossian's Road to Drumleman but I can't listen to it without sobbing like a baby - but then, I never could!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RU6f21Bdsbg |

I clearly remember him playing a split gig with Scott Alarik at Club Passim, (Cambridge, Ma.) and remarking on what a versatile, talented solo performer he was. Thanks to Kenny for reminding us of this sad anniversary. |
