Two years? Goodness, I can still hear the echoes of her singing. Theresa was full of heart and voice, still missed!

So glad Theresa has been 'immortalized' on one of the new Mudcat "This Is Us CDs."

Theresa is still in my thoughts.

I have been finding my old recordings of many who have left us in reasonable quality.

Theresa and Ann together years ago and more. I have promiced later for Nutty.

I have Ann's contact details to be included later as well.

Thank You Tesesa
Richard.

Here is a song I wrote shortly after Theresa's death but I couldn't read it, let alone sing it out, without bursting into tears. I hope to record it on my next CD

I'm so glad that she is still remembered for the immense pleasure she gave to countless people.

HOIST UP THE SAIL
(A SONG FOR THERESA)

CHORUS
HOIST UP THE SAIL AND GLIDE ACROSS THE OCEANS
OR HARNESS THE WIND AND FLY HIGH UP IN THE SKY
LAY DOWN YOUR HEAD AND LET THE SHIP IN MOTION
ROCK YOU TO SLEEP AS WE ALL SAY 'GOODBYE'

MAY YOU FIND THOSE LOST COMPANIONS
ALL THOSE FRIENDS WHO'VE GONE BEFORE
MAY THEY GUIDE YOU TO SAFE HARBOUR
WHEN YOU REACH THAT DISTANT SHORE

MAY YOU NE'ER AGAIN BE SILENT
MAY THE SINGING NEVER CEASE
MAY YOUR VOICE BE HEARD FOREVER
IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU'LL FIND PEACE

We were privileged to have known her for a brief while thanks to Dave Thomas, alas also departed, and always remember her bringing the house down in Ludlow with her Lion Tamers Song.
Wonderful Lady and very much missed

I barely knew her; met her only once. So I not only mourn her, but I mourn that I never had the opportunity to know her better.

Quite a lady, quite a singer.

nutty-

Do record that song when you are able to do it. I would look forward to hearing it.

I only met Theresa at one Getaway but she certainly made a powerful impression.

Her CD is in my living room where it is dusted in time for company - said Happy New Year to her Saturday and missed her terribly.

I hope that this is not an "in-delecate" question, but ... can someone tell me of the circumstances of her death? Thanks ... bob(deckman)nelson

Deckman - Theresa died from complications brought about by Motor Neurone Disease which had robbed her of her voice and the ability to move independently. A cruel disease and a sad end for such a vibrant person.

Nutty, those are beautiful lyrics. I hope you'll record the song so we can all hear it.

I met Theresa only at one Getaway but I too shall never forget her.

There is one memory that still makes me laugh- Amos strumming away on his guitar and Theresa shouting to the group: "Anybody got a song to go with that beat?"

Thanks for the memories, Theresa.

Yes it is a another yearly beginning

I and my old mate John Booker knew Theresa and Bill Tooley for many years at countless festivals such as Fylde, Saddleworth, Whitby and places where singing songs unaccompanied and in harmony with friends was the most important thing ~ a pint and a good laugh

Along with the passing of many old friends maybe a time for reflection. Colin Kemp, Theresa, Johnny Silvo spring to mind god bless them all and the good things they did to make life pleasant

Dear Theresa, such a belting voice. Died on my birthday too.
Whenever I'm singing "Bully in the Alley" I think of her...
"Help me Bob...!"
