12 Jan 12 - 12:49 PM (#3289371) Subject: Anna Shannon @ White Hart FC 14.01.2012 From: Hoblander The White Hart Folk Club, Mickleby, Nr Whitby, North Yorks, UK To kick off the new year at The White Hart Folk Club we have this Saturday 14th January the lovely Anna Shannon. Anna is a versatile singer and songwriter from near Scarborough and her Yorkshire Song gives me a lump in my throat every time I hear it. She is a multi – instrumentalist and sometimes can be heard chiding her instruments as if they are naughty children! So come along and have a really good night. We have a great line-up of guests for the rest of the year, I'll keep you up to date as we go along. As some of you might know a group of regulars at the club have taken over the responsibilities of running the club since September 2011, booking the guests and mc-ing the nights. This is owing to the fact that Jim and Mu Wilkinson can't get to the club because of Jim's health and the fact that Rachel is finding it harder to make Saturdays available. But the Wilkinson family have done some much for folk music and charities in the area for so many years, since the late 60s, when Jim and Mu took over running the Whitby Folk Club, that we all own them a great debt and our gratitude. But they are still very much involved, and the Benders will be happening this year. Kevin |

If it doesn't have you in tears, even if your not from Yorkshire, then you must be dead hard! She is a wonderful singer and multitalented instrumentalist and all round good egg.
