I cannot find an old time lyric for 'Roustabout' a la Fred Cockerham. Would appreciate if anyone could supply the same. Thanks.

Are you unable to find Fred's recording of the piece?

Here's a swift transcription:

Roustabout (Fred Cockerham version)

Roustabout oh roustabout
Where have you been so long
been in the pen with the 40 dollar men
Honey I'm going back again

hopeye hopeye hopeye
Oh baby-o
Hopeye my Lulu gal

Oh where did you get your brand new shoes
Dress you wear so fine
Oh I got the shoes from from a railroad man
Dress from a driver in the mine.

hopeye hopeye hopeye
Oh baby-o
Hopeye my Lulu gal

Who's gonna shoe your pretty little feet
Who's gonna glove your hand
Mama will shoe my pretty little feet
Poppa will glove my hand

hopeye hopeye hopeye

Cheers
Ray

What IS a roustabout? The only roustabout I know is this one:
========
Once they was a little boy, wouldn't say his prayers,
and when he went to bed at night, w-a-a-y up the stairs,
His mammy heard him holler! And his daddy heard him bawl!
[creepily] and when they turned the covers down...
He wasn't there at all.

They seeked him in the rafter room and cubby hole and press.
They seeked him up the chimbley flue and everywhere, I guess.
All they ever found was just his pants and ROUSTABOUT.
Oh, the goblins'll get YOU, if you don't watch out!
