19 Jan 12 - 02:19 PM (#3292947) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: Bee-dubya-ell Yes, Chongo wears trousers. They have a rear-opening flap similar to old-style long underwear or union suits. That's to facilitate easy access when the urge to fling a little poop comes over him. Otherwise, he'd have to completely remove his trousers in order to gain access to his "ammunition" and, by then, his target would likely be out of range. |

19 Jan 12 - 03:04 PM (#3292972) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: Little Hawk Chongo does wear trousers. In fact, the only part of typical human clothing that Chongo often doesn't wear is shoes...for this simple reason. Wearing shoes doesn't allow you to use your feet like a pair of hands, which a chimp can easily do. At any sign of immediate danger or emergency, Chongo kicks off his shoes, if he's wearing any at the time, and is instantly quadridextrous and ready for action whether it be scaling a wall, climbing a tree or rope, or throttling an opponent. |

20 Jan 12 - 06:02 AM (#3293243) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: David C. Carter Chongo's trousers had a penchant for Dylan's trousers, which caused MacColl's trousers to hate Dylan's trousers. Things went arse upward when Dylan's trousers wrote-Blowin'in the Wind,a sort of Hymn to the resistance of Chongo's trousers against the Chongo apocryphal type flatulence. MacColl's trousers,in revenge,wrote-Dirty Old Man.They did not like the Pogues"Belt and Braces"recording, said it was "Below the Belt". But they were not too ruffled about trousering the royalties. 20 Jan 12 - 10:05 PM (#3293698) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: Rapparee Chongo's exterior is as soiled and foul as his interior. You can tell which trousers are his by the stains in the back. In fact, there's a sign on his apartment wall that reads "Brown back, yellow front" (or so I'm told). |

21 Jan 12 - 06:21 PM (#3294109) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: Little Hawk David - Blind Girl Grunt is a nickname that was given to Joan Baez on some Dylan bootleg albums I saw years ago. That is, when songs that Dylan and Baez sang together were listed, they credited the singing to Bob Dylan and Blind Girl Grunt. It's not a nickname that brings Joan Baez to mind, but it was still kind of amusing. |
22 Jan 12 - 06:37 AM (#3294315) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: David C. Carter LH-I knew that you would know that from reading your posts about Dylan. And very interesting they are-If I may say so. I was still living in London at the time when Dylan bootegs were every where:The Great White Wonder,The Little White Wonder etc. I first saw him in a play on TV,guess you would know about it. Then I bought His second album, and have just about eveything I can get my hands on. David No relation |
22 Jan 12 - 11:05 AM (#3294451) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: Little Hawk Yeah, I was reading about his trip to England where he was in that play. After that he went to Italy, hoping to find his roaming girlfriend, Suze, but he didn't find her there. They later re-united in New York for awhile. There's this new book out by Paul Williams called "Bob Dylan - Performing Artist - The Early Years". It's absolutely great, the best book I've read yet about his songs and his songwriting, doesn't bother much in talking about his personal life, but really gets into what makes his songs work so well. Williams is right on the mark. I highly recommend the book. Say, you were wanting me to send you a CD awhile back, weren't you? Email me if you are still wanting one. |
22 Jan 12 - 05:22 PM (#3294677) Subject: RE: BS: Chongo Chimp's trousers From: TheSnail I was still living in London at the time when Dylan bootegs were every where I take it "bootegs" was a typo for "bootees". Dylan's rather strange sartorial tastes have been documented elsewhere (or maybe it was here, I lose track) but his penchant for knitted footwear did seem to start a trend. |
