Paul Simon - mystery lookalike

The Simon & Garfunkel documentary, Songs of America 1969, was on BBC4 last night.

29 minutes in, they're in a rehearsal studio, Garfunkel starts Bridge Over Troubled Water, and this fellow appears, yawning and clowning in front of Garfunkel. At first I thought it was Simon. He's wearing a dark fringe jacket. Then you see Simon and he's in a tank top. Later on they are both in the same shot.

Who he?

Was he part of the crew, or was he there to add a bit of intrigue to the film?

Does anyone know?

Fascinating film, by the way. Available on BBC i-Player.

Splott Man.

Can't answer your question; but I would add that we were fascinated by Paul Simon's earlobes... They seem to be strangely long and run right to his jawbone these days....

I think it's Paul's brother.

Yes, probably his brother. I haven't seen him in decades, but they did look remarkably alike, when they were young.

I think you're right Henry. I found this:

They could be twins, except Paul is 4 years older.

Regarding Paul Simon's earlobes, I remember I first noticed their shape when he hosted Saturday Night Live back in the 1970s. I then realized a lot of the photos on the Simon & Garfunkel albums had been retouched.
