Wanted to say to all UK Mudcatters, that I hope you and your families are safe. The details sound horrendoous and as though it may take some time for them to sort everything out to figure out exactly who is missing,etc. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know, you and your fellow countrymen/women are in my thoughts and prayers. kat |

The accident may have long-term implications for Jim, my husband, who works for Railtrack, sort of. The London-bound train was one of the main commuter trains from Reading. A friend of mine usually catches that train, but was working in Reading on that day - so I'm really grateful that he wasn't on it. But I feel terrible for those who were, and for all those people who are wondering whether someone they love or know might have been involved. Bless you Kat for starting this thread. Kris |

My neat sister in law McKnees who's a cop told of the harrowing times for the good folks who were at the scene of the Lockerbie bombing. The stress on them sounded harrowing. Rick |

WW's paper had a very poignant photo, yesterday, of one of the female rescue workers, just sitting on the tracks, looking totally exhausted, after having helped in the recovery of some of the victims. It is very difficult work, both physically and emotionally. Because the cars are so huge adn heavy, I read they are having to bring an extra big crane for lifting them for more recovery. It must be very frustrating and heartbreaking. Surrounding them all in love and light, with energy and strength to endure and recover. kat |
