02 Feb 12 - 04:36 AM (#3300675) Subject: RE: 5 favorite Rolling Stones songs? From: Bonzo3legs The Stones never released Hi Heeled Sneekers on an official album (correct me if I'm wrong) but for me the Saturday Club version says what British R & B was all about in 1964. It contains an excellent harmonica solo - not swathed in echo. Like many people at that time, I sat with finger poised on the pause button of my reel to reel tape recorder and inevitably missed the first couple of seconds. The BBC should issue a CD of those wonderful sessions, most of which have only ever been heard in medium wave quality! |

03 Feb 12 - 02:30 AM (#3301318) Subject: RE: 5 favorite Rolling Stones songs? From: alanabit Some good stuff there Raptor. I have always liked the tongue in cheek irony of "Live With Me", in which they poke fun at their bad ass image. "Waiting On A Friend", with its gorgeous melody and that lovely ninth chord in the intro is probably also one of their most mature lyrics as well. |
