I'm thinking about using a one man pop up tent for privacy, is this done? Any advice and tips would be gravely received. I'm sure ear plugs will be needed. |

Have no idea what the arrangements are for where we are sleeping as usually we just all lie round the edges of the sports hall, at least I would imagine it will be warmer than the hall and we may even be on carpet. |

Last year the place was full of pegless tents for privacy, bu this year the school have put their foot down and banned them for H & S reasons - god knows why. I always take Gnomad's list of stuff (see his post) (except the hard hat!) plus a small torch for finding your way to the loo without putting the light on in the small hours. Cheers Ray |

I don't know about the Sports Hall and I'm pretty sure that the pub wouldn't want tents inside. As this is the first year they've been involved, it would be wise to show them a good impression of 'Festival Folkies'. That aside, indoor camping requires a degree of tolerance when lots of people are sleeping in the same room. And a very good sense of humour! |

Some people have those very tall air beds so it's like a full-size mattress :) Some also use traditional scout-type campbeds, or travel light with rollmats. Only warning would be- if you have a bed that takes up a lot of space, get there early! Usually, when large-scale indoor camping is organised eg in a school at Banbury festival, thee are different rooms, some of which are 'quiet' areas. In the case of the Swan at Alcester this is the first time we'll be using it, and I believe we'll all be in the one room. Again, get there early to bag a spot to your liking. Give it a go, Sal- it can be good fun :) |

D, likely half of what we grew up eating, drinking, breathing and otherwise ingesting is toxic. We ain't dead yet. BTW, the thing about fracking is not happening now. But the Provincial 'no fracking' ban is soon to be lifted, maybe, so it looks like the work against it has to start now. First thing comes to mind is an information campaign. I'll mention it on the 18th at the concert. After that, well, that's after that. The particular mayor is stunned as me arse. But he ain't smarter. Wind machines, rivers, who cares, right? No. You're right. For the first few times, if you're young enough, it seems like fun, then it becomes something you need to do, in order to do something you wish. After that it starts to drag, and eventually it becomes a pain and (with luck) you find a way to do what you wish without the hassles. I have never been to a Travelodge myself, but if it is near enough and affordable it could well be the best plan. |

Wonderful hours of song, music, memories and catching up on friendships especially in the after hours sings. Indoor camping allows us to be part of a community of music makers for a whole weekend rather than just turning up, doing our 'spot' and retreating into isolation. I appreciate that many folks have reasons that make it necessary for them to have a proper bed for the night rather than a bed on the floor - we had that problem when Andrew was recovering from hip surgery. Farts just smell and are temporary - snoring could be seen as a chance to join in with the chorus - and let's face it for ladies of our age the chance of finding someone else wanting to go to the loo at night is a blessing..heck we always go in pairs!! |

If you were here in the states I would send you some. I carry them fishing. Nice have a hot meal that is good tasting without fuss. |
