"The Inks of Sinn Féin" Come all ye young rebels, give ear to my theme, 'Tis about a TD and his printing machine for leaflets and flyers he gained a great name as he inked up for Erin, the TD from Sinn Féin. 'T'was late one fine evening, as his ink ran out I'll not finish this print run of that there's no doubt so, armed with fresh cartridges he re-loaded with speed but the printer's instructions, he forgot to read. The printer did buzz and the paper did jam So, he opened the machine and reviewed his plan while reloading the cartridge, it was plain to be seen his fingers were all coloured white, orange and green. Now, a Sunday Times poll saw the Shinners ride high a 25% rating, t'was said they'd enjoy This was just too much for the 'Oirish' Daily Mail "We'll dig up dirt on these Shinners, in that we'll not fail. Printing inks are expensive, that we'll not gainsay What luck the Oireachtas such costs will defray €50 K is a large bill for any to assuage but especially a TD on the 'average industrial wage'. Come all Oireachtas members take heed and take care you don't want the tabloids prying in your affairs control your expenses, bad publicity disdain or you'll land in hot water like the TD from Sinn Féin. © Pat 'de Verse' Burke 2012 |
