I have read of this..I am sure his name is spelled differently. I think he was a famine sufferer..don't mean to imply there was ever only one famine..this refers to the Irish potato famine...1847 therabouts. mg

You might be thinking of "Johnny Seoige" - which translates as Johnny Joyce but is pronounced roughly Johnny Show-ig-eh? Sung in Irish with one (or two?) phrase in English. Not sure if we have it around here...
