04 Mar 12 - 12:18 PM (#3317147) Subject: BS: GWB and Mitt Romney From: John MacKenzie As I see it, in 2000 McCain lost out to Bush, and in 2008 Romney lost out to McCain. Does this mean that Romney is(3 times)inferior to Bush? Just a thought, I ain't got a dog in this fight! |

Noted often by the MSNBC group of talking heads is that the Republicans seem to have this "thing" about being next in line. Bush lost to Reagan and then it was his turn. Dole was next in line. McCain lost out to Bushjr and then Romney lost to McCain. It seems it is now Mitt's turn. SNL had the best line for the debates and the continuing Republican clown show an circular firing squad........."Keep talking Boys!" Spaw |

We need him like we need a hole in the Constitution. I mean, another one. The last two administrations have taken so many potshots at it you'd hardly recognize the old rag. A |

04 Mar 12 - 06:04 PM (#3317300) Subject: RE: BS: GWB and Mitt Romney From: catspaw49 No gnu....This thing can be lost. As James Carville said the other night, the candidates may be bad, and they are, but the real problem is we need better voters. That came from a story about Lester Maddox who once said the problem with Georgia prisons was that they needed better prisoners. The Repubs need better voters. The party has gone so far to the fundamentalist super right that they'd reject any real conservative like Barry Goldwater in favor of a nutjob like Santorum or Romney. BTW, George Romney has probably already turned over is his grave............... Spaw |

04 Mar 12 - 06:28 PM (#3317308) Subject: RE: BS: GWB and Mitt Romney From: Bill D Romney keeps holding his 30-35% in the polls... but that only tells you what they are choosing from the available list! There is not much evidence that even 30% actually LIKE Romney....in fact there is good evidence most don't. (whih is why they temporarily tried out Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Gingrich...etc.) It IS the sad case, however, that somewhere around 40-47% of Repubs would vote for anyone(even with horns & tail showing) to defeat Obama. I can't see why, myself, that anyone would install an incompetent loser to run the country... just to defeat an obviously competent winner from the other party.... but the current conservatives have an entirely different mindset than what wee all grew up with. |
