09 Mar 12 - 05:38 PM (#3320618) Subject: BS: romper room Life's disappointment From: olddude I was reflecting today, always a mistake when I do that. I figured out what prepared me most for life's disappointments was that 1950's children s show called Romper room. Remember that? Well everyday this skinny lady in the show would have a hand mirror with nothing in it. Like I didn't notice yah. Her Magic mirror. She would babble something like romper stomper bomper boo then say ... magic mirror, I see Sally, why hello Sally and hi Charlie, and there is Davey ... never never my name ... On my birthday she would say .. a big happy birthday to Joey, Mary, Sebastien!!! I mean really !!! Sebastien !!! .. nope never me ... Watched that show when I was four ... When I was 16 I gave up :-( Not to be ... Danny wasn't in her magic mirror LOL |

I had a guy today following me about 5 inches off my back bumper... I told the P-Vine to open the rear door of the CR-V so he could just drive into the back... The economy adds 227,000 jobs last month and people screaming that Obama is wrecking the economy??? Bush was losing 500,000 a month??? Sarah Palin says that Obama wasn't vetted to be president??? Thin lady, fat lady and and lady in between... Time for recess for wacko behavior... Maybe too much sugar??? Bob |

09 Mar 12 - 07:53 PM (#3320677) Subject: RE: BS: romper room Life's disappointment From: Bee-dubya-ell Hate to break this to ya, Dan, but to get Miss (insert name of local Romper Room hostess HERE) to see you in her magic mirror, you had to send her money. The actual job paid peanuts. The only way to turn it into a gig that paid a living wage was bribery. You didn't get wished a happy birthday? Blame it on your mom. She's the one who didn't mail in a birthday request with a $20.00 bill in it. |

I guess because it seemed like magic to me and I will always love magic. Or simply very fond memories of preschool mornings with a belly full of breakfast and sitting in front of the TV with my sisters while Mom caught up with chores, and playing together while we -sortawatched Romper Room, Betty Boop, etc. A time of security and love. |
