I'm uploading the thing to Vimeo as I write this - just to see if it's any better. YouTube's a very handy site, but there are things about it I'm beginning to detest - the arbitrary changes to channel appearance, the ridiculous claims about "copyright" for stuff in the public domain, and the poor quality sound and vision when compared with sites like Vimeo. I'm actually contemplating hosting my videos on my own web site... But thanks for the post, Dan - you're very kind! |

I'm particularly fond of waltzes, and the golden period of music, for me, is from around the 1890s to the early 1930s. Haunting melodies, often simple, but ones that twine around you! |

I take great care with getting my stuff in synch, so I can tell if it's not been processed properly by YouTube - which, I must admit, only happens now and then. It may be slight, but I spot it straightaway! Some verses demand to be played - others are less than memorable. I pick and choose. One of the things I like about Leon Redbone is the fact that he nearly always sings the complete tune - verse and chorus - on his albums. There's a lovely verse to that old waltz, "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" - and, as far as I know, he's the only person to sing it. As for Bubbles reciprocating... 'twould be telling... |
