Now they don't do the best in the world, but it is pretty darn good for six bucks. Anyway, big line you buy your tickets then go to the other line and get your food. Standing in the line, I see this older guy with a cane and a hat that reads Korean War Veteran, I said, to the others behind me, can he get in front of me, they all said sure. He goes thank you so much. A little while later I hear, I am over here come in line ... 4 more members of his family in front of me .. no problem I don't care ... so eventually I get to the ticket lady it was my turn... she says " I am sorry we are sold out!!!" LOL oh well it smelled good anyway. |

01 Apr 12 - 02:44 PM (#3332139) Subject: RE: BS: No good deed goes unpunished From: gnu I was at the brown pop store today and a lad from the CFB (army) here was in front of me at the cash. Bob, a personal friend of mine, rang up the sale and I said, "Step aside, your money is no good here." He said, "That's okay." I said, "Bob won't take your money." Bob said, " Ya better just go. He's Irish and that makes two of us." He said thanks and left. On the way out, I didn't give aquat to the little snots begging for money to go to a basketball tournament... they should be out doing yardwork for the elderly. |

01 Apr 12 - 04:22 PM (#3332172) Subject: RE: BS: No good deed goes unpunished From: gnu You got THAT right, Rap. I used to spend 15 to 20 hours a week at the DVA unit here tellin lies, singin songs and lettin them win (yeah, right) at cribbage. My FiL used to cheat at cribbage... it was unreal... count two, peg twelve... blamed it on his eyesight loss from a potatoe-masher... "Oh, I thought THAT peg was mine. Sorry." Another lad would lift small cards back into his hand after he played them. I used to sneak extra beer in for some of them when they had special occasions. When a nurse caught me at it, she said, "YOU don't have to change them." I stopped. Haven't been there in a long time. So many died it got to be a little much for me. I ain't so strong at some things although I know I should try harder. |

02 Apr 12 - 11:27 AM (#3332545) Subject: RE: BS: No good deed goes unpunished From: Mrrzy Mine went the other way around - there is a restaurant here that gives free meals to vets on veteran's day, which we didn't know when we went there. There was a HUGE line but the boys, who were still small then, wanted to stay, so we did. When we got to the front of the line, the cashier asked, vet or non-vet, and I said, truthfully, non-vet. So he repeats the question louder, and I reply louder. So he repeats the question really loudly and slowly, so I say OK, vet, and he grins and hands me three meal tickets... |
