Here are the lyrics: JOY FOR THE GLORIOUS MORNING! (words & music by R. Jeanene Pratt, © 2009) Joy, joy! What a glorious morning! Oh, what a beautiful day! The cold, dark tomb couldn't bury the Light And the stone's been rolled away! Sing, Sing, for the new day's dawning, Heaven and earth reborn! Hate couldn't conquer the power of Love On this peaceful Easter morn, On this blessed Easter morn. (Bridge) Just three days ago / they put Love on trial 'Cause they could not understand. Ignorance and fear seemed to rule the minds* And darken** the hearts of man. Just three days ago / darkness seemed to reign, We'd been blinded by the Light. But chains and fear / could not contain The power of Love Divine. So sing out, let your voice ring out! Love victorious reigns! Let the earth abound with joyful sound, For Hope is born again. Oh, what a jubilant day When Love sprang forth - without a sound - And rolled that stone away, And rolled that stone away! * or "day" ** or "harden" If anyone feels inspired to set the lyrics to music, I'd be very interested in hearing that. I kind of like my basic music structure - and the lyrics and tune were pretty much written together - but I'm not in love with all the parts of my tune, and I'm still putzing around with chords. |

Our church pianist is working up a piano background and harmony backup, and we will sing the song this Sunday. I hope to get at least a good audio recording and possibly a good video as well. I changed the chords/tune slightly in places since I posted, and I'll post the correct ones after I get the recording to share. |

The church's sound tech didn't have my piano accompanist, Suzan's, voice mic or my guitar mic turned up high enough for her voice or my guitar to be heard much in the video, so I overdubbed the guitar and some harmony of my own.
