As part of her current UK tour, American traditional singer Judy Cook is appearing at Kiveton Park Folk Club this Tuesday 10th April. So,those of you who've not gone away for a sun-drenched holiday in Clacton or somewhere can get along to Kivvo and see one of the most respected performers of American and British traditional songs. Born in Virginia into a musical family, Judy has been performing professionally since the early 1990' and regularly tours clubs and festivals in this country, including bookings at Whitby and the National, amongst others.
She is a well-respected singer of the old songs and has a deep feeling for the tradition, presented through her vast repertoire in an entertaining and informative manner.Judy also has four CD's to her credit.
So, come along to Kiveton this coming Tuesday. Cheap bar, free tea, coffee and grub, friendly crowd and our guest, Judy Cook. All welcome.

Regards

Andy

Could anyone provide details of the actual location (I know Kiveton Park is a very small place, but...)as the map on the website does not seem to work AND their does not appear to be a post code on the website (tho. I have to admit, my eyes are growing a little dim!!!)

Here's the directions on the site: Kiveton Park FC and here's a google map (with a postcode: S26 6SQ) for Stone Close. Go to the bottom of Stone Close (it's very short) and through the gate for the Pavillion (that's on the right as you enter, parking on the left on the grass).

Lovely night. With hubby Dennis adding the occasional(unpaid-but the fringe benefits are great)duet. I love the humour she weaves into her songs and banter. Oh, and a topical song about Titanic.
And KPFC, thanks for the lovely grub!
