Tune Req: Hunting For an Irish Lament For a Drowne

I am trying to track down the name of a lament I heard decades ago. This is what I think I remember of it:

1) The name of the lament was something like "The First/Second/whatever Tuesday in April/May/whatever".

2) It was a Chieftains recording.

3) As the title of the thread says, it was for a drowned son.

Any help would be appreciated. A hyper-link to the tune would be greatly appreciated.

I can understand why it might be difficult to search the Chieftain website for lyrics. They have so many recordings and no general list of song titles. Hopefully someone else may actually know the song you are interested in. Could you narrow down the approximate year of the recording or even the decade?

I would have to say before 1979. As I recall, the version I heard had no lyrics. I'm not even sure it was The Chieftains but that sounds right because I wasn't listening to any other Irish music at the time except them.

BINGO !!! That was just the "leg up" I needed.

The tune is called "An Chéad Mháirt den Fhómhar (The First Tuesday of Autumn) / Green Grow the Rushes O", it's on The Chieftains Bonaparte's Retreat recording and can be heard on Grooveshark .
