We were impressionable politically progressive punk rock / new wave kids so consequently refused to ever listen to any of his music. Until last year, when out of curiosity I listened to a cheap CD box set of his key 1970's LPs. I was surprised by what I heard, probably one of the best heavy riffing classic rock style guitarist I've ever experienced. His tone was amongst the best ever. It's so sad that instead of being seriously respected as one of the essential guitarists of the late 20th Century he blew it all away by being such a colossal arsehole.... ..file him away with the likes of Gary Glitter as music to be enjoyed dispite the artist being despicable beyond redemption.. |

The latter song made no sense.
