12 May 12 - 02:40 PM (#3350052) Subject: Vintage tenor banjo with HSC for sale From: Big Ballad Singer Hello all. Long time, no visit for me. Nutshell: Things are looking up somewhat; working one day a week, but the money's decent. Playing a little more frequently in church, still trying to work on networking/marketing self elsewhere. I'm following up with my surgeon re: getting my cataract repaired. Anyway, I have a vintage tenor banjo for sale. Japanese, probably late 60s or early 70s. Good action, good tone, newer frosted head. I was planning on using it in my kids' shows/clown gigs, but I'm getting more offers to play guitar right now, and banjo is not one of my stronger instruments. I need the cash more than I need the hobby, if you catch my drift. I'd like to get $150, shipping included. The banjo alone is probably worth that, The case has a tear in the covering, but is structurally solid as a rock. Would trade even-up for a 12-string guitar with good low action. If it's got electronics, I might be able to add SOME cash. Would also trade for an outboard preamp for acoustic/electric guitar. I got given a guitar by a friend that has a piezo pickup but no preamp and no controls. Willing to trade for something from LR Baggs, Boss or any other preamp that I can use to shape the tone and volume of an otherwise nice-sounding guitar. Make me an offer... trying to keep the bills paid, as always. Regards, Big |

12 May 12 - 07:02 PM (#3350145) Subject: RE: Vintage tenor banjo with HSC for sale From: Big Ballad Singer No brand name; forgot to mention that. This banjo is from the same factory (-ies) that produced instruments under names like Lyle, etc. I had a five-string that I sold a while ago that was from the same makers; it had lost its plastic nameplate-thing, too. I once had a lead on the name of the factory/company, but I have forgotten who they were. This one has dot inlays as opposed to the MOP blocks I've seen on others. Resonator, looks like a one-piece flange (but I could be wrong). Anyway, for a good-sounding and good-playing instrument like this, $125 to your door** is a great deal. Regards, Big **Unless, of course, there's some ridiculously high fees associated with shipping to your country of residence. In that case, alternate arrangements shall gladly be made. |
