Chippenham Folk Festival :

There will be English tunes practice sessions from 10.00 - 11.30 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the Rose & Crown Bar (but check the programme in case of late changes)run by the Spare Parts Concertina Band. It will just be Bryan Creer and me on this occasion.

Bryan has put the tunes on the tunes page of the band website as music notation and midis (normal and slow speeds) for anyone who would like to download them in advance. Feel free to try the tunes even if you aren't coming to the practices, which will be slow and suitable for ear players as well as readers.

We've chosen these because they are all tunes we've heard in local English tunes sessions over the past year.

Have fun.

We learnt a lot from your workshops when we were just starting to think about playing in sessions.
We started out with David Oliver's first book and CD, then found you at Chippenham.

It's great that there are such helpful people up and down the country.

And isn't it good when you play a tune and everyone joins in.

We'll be a Chester this year cos its walking distance rather than a day's drive; I might play 'We will down with the French' in a session, and think of you.
